Specialty Class & Event Descriptions

Sparring– Members will get a chance to utilize all the punches, kicks, & knees they have been learning in classes, in a controlled environment with fellow members. Sparring will allow members to learn strategies on offense & defense, timing, distance, and control.

Equipment Needed: Face Mask, Shinguards, Groin Protector (Male), Hand Wraps, 16oz. Boxing Gloves, Mouth Guard, Water Bottle, & Towel. *MEMBERS UNDER 18, MUST WEAR A HEADGEAR.*

LT-Kick Sparring- Little Trunks will get a chance to utilize all the kicks, knees, push kicks, and all the (Body) punches they have been learning in classes, in a controlled environment with their peers. Kick sparring will allow children to learn strategies on offense, defense, timing, distance, and control.

Equipment Needed: Face Mask, Hand Wraps, Boxing Gloves, Shinguards, Water Bottle, & Towel.

 Wrestling- This is a combat sport involving two competitors/partners who attempt to gain & maintain superior positioning through grappling techniques such as clinching, throws, takedowns, pins, and other grappling holds. Members will be learning and practicing the basics of wrestling, which include but are not limited to stance, takedowns, throws, pins, escapes, and building muscular strength & endurance which comes along with wrestling training.

 

Jiu-Jitsu- This is a martial art that is based on ground fighting and submission holds. It focuses on taking an opponent to the ground and controlling them while gaining a dominant position using a number of techniques to force them into submission like joint locks and/or chokeholds. Members will be learning the basics, fundamentals, and advanced techniques in due time, while practicing safely, with their partner in a controlled environment.

 

Fun Friday- This class rewards all the children that constantly work hard throughout the week by allowing them to play fun active games. Here at MTKG, we like to promote a fun, safe, environment, not only by teaching the children discipline, respect, & self-defense, but also by showing them that learning Muay Thai is fun, and you can become a part of a team/family.
