Special Events

Thirsty Thursdays

When: Thursday, January 6th at 8:45 PM.

Instead of going to the club to party, and drink; come to MTKG instead to experience a fun class that will host a Live DJ, and include MMA Ground & Pound Style workouts. These workouts are used by MMA fighters to enhance their strength, stamina, & muscular endurance. This specialty class will definitely leave you thirsty in more ways than one! With a live DJ and a great workout, who wouldn’t want to be a part of Thirsty Thursdays?

Equipment Needed: towel/Yoga Mat, Hand wraps, Boxing Gloves, & Water Bottle.

Little Trunks Ceremony

When: Saturday, January 29th, 8:30 am-10:30 am

This event allows children to test and get promoted to the next level in their program. Children will be showcasing their moves in front of their coaches, parents, & Kru Neil. Children are carefully hand picked by all the coaches that have proven they are ready to test. This ceremony is a testament to all their hardwork, discipline, and their determination.

Requirements: School Uniform (Shirt & Shorts), Hand Wraps, & Boxing Gloves.

When: Thursday, February, 3rd 8:45pm

C.A.L.I. 41 “As Real As It Gets”dsa

When: Saturday, February 5th, 8:45pm

This will be a professional & amateur sanctioned Muay Thai Promotion. We have 2 of our very own fighting in this card. We have Martin Duarte @martyd1987 & David Trujillo @ayo_trujillo fighting on the same card. This promotion will be taking place Saturday Feb. 5th. at the Burbank Marriott Convention Center. Fights start @6pm. Doors open @5pm.

Black Package Assessment

When: Sunday, February 6th, 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm

Is a progress report, testing members on their stamina, endurance, and strength at the present time. It holds members accountable, and allows black package members to track their fitness progressions from taking classes. These assessments will be held once a month, to maintain accountability. It will allow members to continue their comraderie towards their teammates, but also provide a safe, encouraging environment for continued success. Assessment’s will consist of the following… 2 mile run, push-ups, pull-ups, Shoulder Presses, Squats, Sit-ups, Kicks, Punches, Elbows, Knees. Members will have only 1 hour & 30 minutes to complete the assessment. Will be taking place Sunday Feb. 6th @12:30pm-2:00pm.

Equipment Needed: Running Shoes, Jump Rope, Towel/Yoga Mat, Hand Wraps, Boxing Gloves, Time Tracker, Water, & Pen.

Valentine’s Sweetheart Bootcamp

When: Monda,y February 11th, 5:45pm

Celebrate this Valentine’s Day with a coupled themed workout. There will be specially themed music to enhance your experience. If you want to burn off a lot of calories before celebrating with your significant other, then this bootcamp you will not want to miss. This event will be taking place on Friday Feb. 11th @5:45pm with a Live DJ.

Equipment Needed: Towel/Yoga Mat, Hand Wraps, Boxing Gloves, Jump Rope, & Water Bottle.

Valentine’s Singles Heartbreak Bootcamp

When: Monday, February 14th, 5:45pm

Celebrate this Valentine’s Day with fellow teammates that are single & ready to mingle or maybe just getting out of a bad breakup. Come down for a fun, & lively workout with a Live DJ, playing some specifically themed music to help you enjoy yourself, and to enhance the experience. This event will be taking place Mon. Feb. 14th @545pm.

Equipment Needed: Towel/Yoga Mat, Hand Wraps, Boxing Gloves, Jump Rope, & Water Bottle.

Refine those skills with a partner

Sparring

Members will get a chance to utilize all the punches, kicks, & knees they have been learning in classes, in a controlled environment with fellow members. Sparring will allow members to learn strategies on offense & defense, timing, distance, and control.

Equipment Needed: Shinguards, Groin Protector (Male), Hand Wraps, 16oz. Boxing Gloves, Mouth Guard, Water Bottle, & Towel. *MEMBERS UNDER 18, MUST WEAR A HEADGEAR.*

Little Trunks Class

LT-Kick Sparring

Little Trunks will get a chance to utilize all the kicks, knees, push kicks, and all the (Body) punches they have been learning in classes, in a controlled environment with their peers. Kick sparring will allow children to learn strategies on offense, defense, timing, distance, and control.

Equipment Needed: Hand Wraps, Boxing Gloves, Shinguards, Water Bottle, & Towel.

Wrestling

This is a combat sport involving two competitors/partners who attempt to gain & maintain superior positioning through grappling techniques such as clinching, throws, takedowns, pins, and other grappling holds. Members will be learning and practicing the basics of wrestling, which include but are not limited to stance, takedowns, throws, pins, escapes, and building muscular strength & endurance which comes along with wrestling training.

Make them tap!

Jiu Jitsu

This is a martial art that is based on ground fighting and submission holds. It focuses on taking an opponent to the ground and controlling them while gaining a dominant position using a number of techniques to force them into submission like joint locks and/or chokeholds. Members will be learning the basics, fundamentals, and advanced techniques in due time, while practicing safely, with their partner in a controlled environment.

This class rewards all the children that constantly work hard throughout the week by allowing them to play fun active games. Here at MTKG, we like to promote a fun, safe, environment, not only by teaching the children discipline, respect, & self-defense, but also by showing them that learning Muay Thai is fun, and you can become a part of a team/family.
